Harbrinder Sandhu, M.D.

Dr. Harbrinder Sandhu, fondly known to us as Dr. Harry, brings his years of experience in other rheumatology clinics to our team at Buffalo Rheumatology. He is board certified in both internal medicine and rheumatology, and he is a member of the American College of Rheumatology as well as the International Society for Clinical Densitometry.

Dr. Harry was attracted to rheumatology because of the cerebral, mystery-solving aspect of the field. A regular Sherlock Holmes of rheumatology, Dr. Harry is on the case. He approaches each patient’s particular condition with the words of his mentor in mind: “History does not start at the elevator.” Sometimes, you have to keep digging to find answers and be open to consulting with more experienced colleagues to find the diagnosis and treatment that works best for the patient.

Just as Dr. Harry is open to conferring with his colleagues to learn from them, one of his favorite aspects of the job is mentoring residents and publishing medical posters that increase patient awareness. He also appreciates when patients search for resources on their diseases and medications because it means they are partners in care.

Originally from India, Dr. Harry came to the U.S. for his post-doctoral training and now lives in Western New York with his family. Medical knowledge runs in the family. His sister, a fellow physician, inspired him to go into the medical field, and his spouse is currently involved in an endocrinology fellowship. Dr. Harry spends his free time playing tag and cycling with his daughter. Whether you are looking to treat a rheumatic disease or choreograph a new musical, see Dr. Harry—he has experience with both.
