As Medical Director of Buffalo Rheumatology and Medicine, Dr. Joe is board certified in internal medicine and rheumatology and holds a certification with the International Society of Clinical Densitometry. A native of Buffalo, NY, Dr. Joe has served as Chief Resident in Internal Medicine at Millard Fillmore Hospital in 1986 – 1987, and went on to complete a sub-specialty fellowship in rheumatology before opening the practice with Dr. Mike.
Since 2003, Dr. Joe has served as Chief of Rheumatology at the Mercy Hospital of Buffalo. He has also held the post of Assistant Clinical Professor of Medicine at the State University of New York at Buffalo since 1989. He is an active researcher, is regularly invited to present his research, and has been extensively published in numerous medical journals.
Voted by physicians of Western New York, Dr. Joe has won the coveted Castle Conley’s Top Doctor Award the past seven consecutive years. He has also won the notable Doctor of the Year award several times, as voted by patients in the greater Western New York area.
Multi-talented, Dr. Joe is also a carpenter, sports enthusiast, and certified scuba diver. In his spare time, he enjoys photography, writing, cooking, and traveling.
