Ultrasound

The ultrasound machine we use at Buffalo Rheumatology is like any other you may have seen or heard of in the past. The machine uses high frequency sound waves to take pictures and provide a visual for injection sites. It is considered very safe for use and does not give off radiation like X-rays.

Diagnosis & Pain Relief
Early detection and diagnosis are key in the management of your condition. In some cases, our rheumatologists may use ultrasound technology during your diagnosis. The clear images from an ultrasound allow us to get an accurate view of your muscles, joints, tendons, and soft tissues as we monitor your progress. Our rheumatologists may also use ultrasound to guide injections in the joints that help relieve pain where it is needed most.

Ultrasound services are currently being offered to Buffalo Rheumatology patients at our Orchard Park location.
